Nutrition and Fitness play hand in hand when it comes to weight loss. Do you know how many calories you should be eating? A good uncomplicated way to figure out your approximate calories is to take your bodyweight and multiply it by 11. Just make sure you don't go any lower than 1400 calories or it will only hurt you, not help you.
Planning your meals is also a good way to make sure you don't "cheat". When I first started planning my meals and watching my calories, my body started to make some drastic changes. Now, I plan my meals a couple times a week, just to make sure I am on track!

I dont count, but I probably should.
1I forgot to add the 2 places where you can track your foods for FREE! It's a good, quick, easy way to at least put in your foods to see where your calories and ratios stand.
http://www.fitday.com and http://sparkspeople.com
I use Sparkspeople.com and since I have been using if for so long, most of the foods I regularly eat are already entered in, making it faster to plan my meals...speaking of..time to plan todays meals!
2http://www.healthylivingonline.com/
This is the site I use for my calorie conting and fitness routines. not sure if they are good but I try and follow them. I haven't been keeping track lately of the calories, need to get back on that.
3thanks for posting such great info + websites! helpful and interesting
4im trying to break down my food into 5 meals a day. arghhhhhh its difficult. i might just bring my snacks to work and keep them in the fridge here.
5i used to be hyper obsessed... i had notebooks filled with everything i ate each day as well as the fat, carbs and protein and then i would calculate the percentage of each. Also, each night I would outline what i was going to eat the next day.
It was a bit over the top but whenever i wanted to loose a little it made it super easy. I think this method is great for that, but when you do it every single day, a)you spend a ton of time on it, and b) it's easy to start cheating here and there and not write every bite down.
Also, if you tend to be a bit obsessive with things, you might start cutting more and more calories and find yourself only eating 1100 calories a day like i did for awhile...
and that, for the record, is not healthy in the long term.
