Fitness plateaus can be very discouraging. You have been working out extra hard and very regularly only to see little or no results. So what things can you do to break that plateau and start losing fat again?
First, take a look at what you have been eating. Have you been sneaking handfuls of potato chips or running out of time to prepare meals that you end eating fast food more often? What you put into your body is just as, if not MORE important than your workouts. Plan your meals or write them down so that you can be sure you are eating to burn fat! Make sure you are burning more calories than you are putting into your body!
Second, change up your workout routine. Are you still doing the same old exercises with the same number of reps and weight? Time to do something DIFFERENT! Add more weight, do less repetitions and work different body parts. All these things will help to jump start your fat loss when you are stuck. If you haven’t been doing interval training, DO IT! These are amazing for fat loss!
I came across an article by Tom Venuto, author of Burn the Fat called “The Wedge of Discouragement”. You can read it here:

Alessi
great post! THanks!
1Thank you for this. I lost a lot of weight a couple of years ago, hit a plateau, got discouraged and gained everything back. So, I'm praying that this time will be different.
